Physiological effects

Ubiquinol is an active form of ubiquinone and thus both ingredients are co-enzyme Q10 in different form. Coenzyme Q10 is more than 90% present in our body as ubiquinol.

Ubiquinol, ingested as a dietary supplement, acts directly on the body without the need for enzymes to convert it to its active form. Thus, ubiquinol is easily absorbed and is immediately available as such to the cells.

Ubiquinol is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like substance and a key coenzyme in the formation of ATP, or adenosine triphosphate, in the energy production centers (mitochondria) of cells, directly affecting the energy production of cells.

Elderly people in particular should use ubiquinol, as the body’s ability to produce ubiquinone and convert it to the reduced form of ubiquinol decreases with age.
